Georg Teigl looks forward to the first duel of Austria Wien with his former employer RB Salzburg in the Generali Arena (Saturday, 17:00). In the first one and a half months in Vienna, the 29-year-old experienced an exciting young team and a head coach who is predestined to get the best out of Teigl and his fellow players.

He has got to know Peter Stöger in exactly the same way as he assessed him before: "He is convinced of what he is doing and gives us all a great opportunity to bring out the best in ourselves. At the moment Austria offers a lot of room for development - as a team and for each individual," says Georg Teigl.

Last season, the 29-year-old didn't get much playing practice with FC Augsburg in the German Bundesliga. That has left its mark:

"I am grateful to be given this time"

"I noticed in the first games that I am not yet bringing the dynamics and runs forward to the pitch that I expect from myself. I'm currently in the process of reaching my maximum again through regular playing practice - that takes some time, that's quite normal. I am very grateful that I am given this time," the Viennese player says.

Austria scored seven points in the first four rounds of the Bundesliga, Georg Teigl sees room for improvement: "It is clear that things are getting better and better. The score is okay, but not exceptional - it was a solid start." Now the Violets want to surprise against the leader of the table RB Salzburg:

"It's the only way we can achvieve something against Salzburg"

"Clearly, Salzburg is the favorite. We will need a very good day from each individual and a cohesive team performance - this is the only way we can achvieve something", emphasizes Teigl, who himself played for RB Salzburg from 2010 to 2013, winning two championships and cup titles each before moving to Germany:

"I remember Salzburg as a very exciting and positive time, which prepared me for a lot of things afterwards. I became a professional in this environment and was still very young". On Saturday, Georg Teigl will meet his former team colleagues Andreas Ulmer, Alexander Walke and André Ramalho for the first time:

"I followed the development in Salzburg with great interest, I am impressed by the scouting and the way they develop talents from all over the world. On Saturday, I expect an opponent with a lot of speed, game intelligence and great speed of action."
