The 19-year-old attacker from the Central African Republic is transferring from the Finnish club FC TPS Turku Oy to Austria Wien and signs a long-term contract.

Austria Wien signs Sterling Yateke

Yateke scored seven goals in nine games during the preseason in the highest division and is hired as a perspective player for the A-team squad. He is already at the training camp with the rest of the team.

On Tuesday morning Yateke completed the medical checks in the Privatklinik Döbling, health partner of Austria Wien, as well as the sport motor activity tests in the Generali-Arena. He then signed the new contract.

Sporting Director Ralf Muhr: "Yateke is an exciting player who was able to attract attention at a very young age in the top division. We are convinced that we were able to gain a highly talented striker with him. He is a perspective player for our first team, a striker with a lot of quality and potential."

Sterling Yateke: "It feels really good to be here. Everyone knows Austria Wien. I like the competition and am ready for this big challenge. I want to play in the European Cup with Austria Wien - that's my big goal. I want to achieve a lot in my career."

Yateke went from the Nkongsamba Academy in Cameroon to Finland during summer 2018, where he promptly drew attention during his first half season in European football - with seven goals and two assists in nine games the 19-year-old showed a lot for the Finnish relegated team FC TPS Turku Oy.

Silence has been agreed on the transfer fee and modalities.
