Coach Thomas Letsch started with an even more offensive team than against Hartberg, Alon Turgeman took over Dominik Prokop’s place in the starting eleven. The Israeli started next to Bright Edomwonyi in the front, Christoph Monschein started on the right wing. Christian Schoissengeyr replaced the suspended Igor in central defence.

SCR Altach parted ways with coach Werner Grabherr after the home defeat against Admira. Assistant coach Wolfgang Luisser took his place on the bench, Sports Director Georg Zellhofer supported him. Felix Luckeneder, Samuel Oum Gouet and Marco Meilinger where new in the line-up and stood in a 4-3-3 system, which became a back five during defence.

Austria Wien falls behind before the break

The game began unfortunate, Altach took the lead in the 4th minute through former ‘Violet’ Marco Meilinger. Mergim Berisha made the assist. The ‘Violets’ immediately pressed on the equalizer, and succeeded only a few minutes later: Alon Turgeman got the ball after a bad pass by Benedikt Zech. He hit the right bar after overcoming goalkeeper Martin Kobras. Via an Altach defender, the ball hit the other pole before Bright Edomwonyi responded the fastest and scored (11').

After a free-kick by Stefan Nutz and a header by Berisha Philipp Netzer pressed the ball over the line while on the floor - the guests took back the lead (22'). A shot by Christoph Monschein and a free kick by Michael Madl, were saved by Kobras (27', 30'), on the other hand, Patrick Pentz saved against Philipp Netzer (33').

Christoph Monschein came to a finish after a corner kick, Zech threw himself between and prevented a big chance for Austria Wien (35'). Turgeman put a header on the bar after a cross by Alexander Grünwald (44'). Already during stoppage time Turgeman went past Kobras, but the ball landed on the crossbar.

The equalizer didn’t succeed

The second half also began with great enthusiasm. A shot by Emir Karic was dangerously deflected (47'), a finish by Uroš Matić from about 20 meters was too central (49'). Captain Alex Grünwald also tried a shot from a distance but the ball went over the goal (59').

Christian Schoissengeyr was replaced by Alexandar Borković in the 62nd minute, followed by Dominik Prokop for Alon Turgeman. The Israeli had a chance to equalize before but failed on Kobras (68'). Dominik Prokop and Maximilian Sax combined well in Altach’s penalty area, however, Prokop’s finish also went over the goal (76'). With Cristián Cuevas for Christoph Martschinko Letsch made his last change.

In the 89th minute substitute Manfred Fischer fell during a duel with Pentz and scored the 1-3 with the penalty-kick given by referee Manuel Schüttengruber. Austria Wien lost the game but remained in third place and thus qualified for the championship group.
